Diana's Story

I remember back in 2000, when BLCI went through a financial crisis and closed for about two weeks.

If, in the future, BLCI faces the same problems, I will do anything in my power to keep the program running.

Being around the program, and helping out in any way possible, is the least I can do for all the guidance, help, love, and support I received from everyone in BLCI.

With Some Help

Applying to colleges was extremely stressful but, with the help of the BLCI staff, I was able to manage the paper work.

On the days when material for college had to be turned in the very next day, my High School Coordinator, Jennie, would stay up really late with me.

We would work together until everything was finished.

Sometimes, we would meet early the next day to begin work again.

Something Extra

The staff at BLCI is willing to put things aside so their students are safe and focused on school.

For example, there were times when I had family problems.

Diana, our ED, took my sister and I to her house, where we had dinner together and just talked.

The Future

Now that I am in college, I am determined to study hard and become a registered nurse, in order to help other people.

But I would also like to help counsel teens who face problems with their families.
