Jose's Story

Throughout my high school experience, I have had the toughest challenges in my life.

Sometimes, they even made me think that school was not for me.

If it wasn't for the support that BLCI gave me, I do not think I would have been able to get through my challenges. 

Now, I know that going to school and getting a college education is all I have ever wanted!

Leading the Way

At BLCI, I saw that if I attended a four-year university, I would be one of the few from my community to do so. 

I  would satisfy my goals, and most of all, I would represent my Hispanic community as a whole.   

Giving Back

BLCI taught me to give back to my community, and has encouraged me to do so as a long-term goal. 

I am very grateful. If it was not for the program, I do not think I would have been accepted to college.
