A Message From Jennie Lange
Dear friends and colleagues,
In the three years that I have been fortunate enough to be a part of the BLCI family, I have come into contact with many amazing community partners, colleagues, and friends. It is with a mixture of sadness and anticipation that I announce that July 31st will be my last day at BLCI in a full-time capacity. I am moving into a Program Director position at the Open GATE tutoring program, an education-focused non-profit organization that works with underserved gifted youth here in San Diego.
My new position will allow me a chance to continue developing my leadership and non-profit management skills, as well as continue my work with the populations I am committed to serving in our community. For the time being I will stay with BLCI in a part-time capacity, assisting the rising senior class and their parents with the upcoming college and financial aid application process.
The High School program, and indeed BLCI on the whole, has seen exciting growth and accomplishments over the past few years. As a result of this, we are in the process of expanding to formally serve our alumni and their parents as they continue their studies in college. This new program will allow us to provide our students with scholarship opportunities, internships, mentorship, and the overall support we believe is pivotal to our students’ success. We will soon be sending out more official announcements about the program, so look for upcoming press releases regarding our new services soon!
These past three years have been a wonderful experience for me both professionally and personally, and you have all contributed to that. Thank you for all the wonderful work that you do, and for supporting BLCI!
All my best,
Jennie
