Orgullo Hispano: Students embody Hispanic pride
UNIVISION salutes Diana Aguiar ('08)
Hispanic Heritage Month, 2006
Diana, a junior at The Preuss School, UCSD, has been in our program since 6th grade. This past summer, she became heavily involved with the San Diego Media Arts Center’s summer program.
Diana is also an active participant in theater, at her church, and community service. In fact, she has recently been named President of BLCI’s Community.
Among the many project the club will tackle this year, the stand-out is the BLCI/Friends of Scott Partnership. Friends of Scott provides support and advocacy to children and families suffering from the effects of cancer.
BLCI students pack bookbags with toys, books, supplies, and information packets for cancer patients and their families – it’s a great way for the kids to get involved, and they’re able to accomplish quite a bit in a short amount of time.
Diana is a role model for her two younger sisters, Melissa (BLCI '11) and Jasleen (BLCI '18). Diana would like to work with children in the future.
