BLCI Grads Lead the Way as First-Generation College Students

San Diego, CA - July 13, 2006
The families, volunteers, and staff of Barrio Logan College Institute proudly celebrate 10 years of helping local students become the first in their families to go to college.
Our 2006 Graduation Ceremony and 10th Anniversary Celebration on Saturday, July 15, at the University of San Diego’s Joan B. Kroc Institute for Peace and Justice. The ceremony will begin at 1:00; a reception will follow.

Emcee: National City Councilman Luis Natividad
In addition, representatives from the office of Senator Denise Moreno Ducheny, Congresswoman Susan Davis, City Councilman Ben Hueso, National City police chief Adolfo Gonzalez, and Mayor Jerry Sanders are among the community, educational, and non-profit leaders are expected to take part in the celebration.
Join us as we look back over the past 10 years – and salute the community members, families, and college-bound students working together to create a legacy for the future generations of Barrio Logan, and underserved students everywhere.
