Lisett's Story
Lisett knows who she is, and what she believes in – she is never afraid to assert herself and be different from the crowd.
When she joined the BLCI program, Lisett stood out as a curious and challenging fifth grader.
As she matured, she became a independent learner and a strong leader.
When trying to figure things out, she draws on her inner strength and personal ideals to guide her decisions.
As a 5th grader, Lisette wrote the following about her college goals:
1997: I like coming to BLEI because I like to learn. Here, I have learned about my friends and their families, and they learn about my family and I.
I want to learn about the ocean and about marine life. I want to teach about marine life too. So I'm never going to give up on my studies.
