Victor's Story

The fact is, you don’t have to be a genius to go to college.

This may sound simple, but to me it really was a bit shocking.  School and society send the message that education is only for the extremely rich and intelligent.

This is probably the reason some kids don’t go on to college; they feel it is not for them.

Thanks to BLCI, I realized that this was simply not the case.

An Excellent Candidate

Through elementary, middle, and high school, BLCI has been there for me, guiding me toward the path of attending a university.

The BLCI staff showed me that I was actually an excellent candidate for college, even when I doubted that I had the grades.

From then on, college was definitely something I wanted to do.

Staying on Track

Without BLCI, I might have lost my way – and my chance to go to college.

I had always been a strong student, but I started having academic troubles when BLCI helped me get into a private prep school.

BLCI didn’t get me straight A’s, and that’s not their fault, it’s mine.

But when I asked for help, I got it.  I turned some F’s into C’s, and some C’s into B’s.

The BLCI staff provided me with encouragement and help whenever I needed it.  I have never failed a class, but I know that I could have if it wasn’t for the tutoring I received at BLCI.

I Found My Way

I went from being a kid who was not sure what to do about anything, to a young man who is on his path to success.

My business experiences so far have taught me that that working to get a middle management position is not a good career choice.

I plan to get my degree, get a job, and have something for my family that I can be proud of.

The BLCI staff helped, explained, and listened, but always kept in mind what I wanted to do.  With my parents and BLCI behind me, I was able to find my way.
